Agents say they found Keys man with child porn. They arrested him 3 years later

Three years after a law enforcement agents say they seized devices with child pornography on them, a Florida Keys man was arrested last week, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said in a Monday statement.

Saylor DiMartino, 25, of Tavernier, is a registered sexual offender, and his arrest on 12 counts of possessing child sexual abuse material was “the result of FDLE’s statewide initiative to locate and arrest criminals targeting children and sharing files depicting the sexual abuse of children.”

Agents started investigating DiMartino in August 2023 after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children that someone was downloading and sharing files of child sexual abuse material on Snapchat, Discord and Kik, the statement said. The user was allegedly identified as DiMartino.

The FDLE Special Operations Team conducted a search warrant at his home on Oct. 3, 2023, the statement said. Agents seized several electronic devices, and a forensic analysis identified multiple child pornography files on his devices.

Last week, DiMartino was arrested and taken to the Monroe County Jail. A spokesperson for FDLE didn’t immediately respond to explain the multi-year gap between the search and seizure of DiMartino’s devices and his arrest.

He was convicted of attempted sexual exploitation of a child in Adams, Colorado, nearly four years ago, according to the National Sex Offender Registry. In Sept. 2024, he pleaded no contest to trespassing in Monroe County.

DiMartino remained in custody as of Monday and didn’t have an attorney listed yet. The Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution is prosecuting the case, the FDLE said, and the investigation is ongoing.
