Montgomery detours in place during downtown parking deck construction

A parking deck construction project in downtown Montgomery will lead to traffic detours for at least a year.

The City of Montgomery announced that contractor Stone Builders will begin construction on the ABRFA parking deck, located at 924 Madison Ave., starting Sept. 21. The project is expected to continue through late November 2027, the city said in a release.

The following road closures will be implemented:

• Hilliard Street will be closed from Madison Avenue to Monroe Street.
• Monroe Street will be closed from North Jackson Street to Hilliard Street

Detour routes will be clearly marked, and motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time, anticipate delays, and use alternate routes whenever possible, the release stated.
