Packers Injury Report Update: Lukas Van Ness and Javon Hargrave’s Status for Sunday Revealed

Edge rusher Lukas Van Ness will be in the lineup for the Packers on Sunday after passing concussion protocol. Meanwhile, defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, also in concussion protocol throughout the week, isn’t as far along as his teammate and has been ruled out.

Van Ness was seemingly ahead of schedule the entire week, practicing in a limited capacity Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Hargrave was held out on Thursday and Friday.

Having Van Ness for Sunday is a big boost, but Hargrave’s absence creates a hole.

With Hargrave and Warren Brinson (calf) out for Sunday, the Packers may be ready to unleash rookie Anthony Campbell. The 26-year-old went undrafted in 2025, but impressed during training camp after signing a futures deal with Green Bay back in January.

Confidence isn’t lacking for Campbell, but considering this will be his first taste of real NFL action, expectations shouldn’t be too high.

Fellow rookies Chris McClellan and Dani Dennis-Sutton could see more reps. McClellan, a 2026 third-round pick, played 28 snaps in Week 1, while Dennis-Sutton, a fourth-rounder, played 21 snaps.

Earlier in the week, the Packers also added veteran defensive tackle Eric Johnson, a 2022 fifth-round pick, to their practice squad on Tuesday; he has 41 tackles (two for loss) and a sack over 51 career games for the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots.

RT Zach Bako-Bewele and LG Aaron Banks Questionable vs. Jets

Zach Bako-Bewele played in Week 1 despite being listed as questionable. This week has been much the same story: questionable after limited practice throughout the week.

Bako-Bewele struggled in the Packers’ season opener, allowing three pressures and a sack, while posting a 57.6 PFF run-blocking grade (43rd out of 65 qualified tackles) and a 58.7 pass-blocking grade (47th out of 65). Regardless, he’s in line to start, hoping for better results against the Jets.

Meanwhile, Aaron Banks is a different story.

Bothered by persistent knee tendinitis since the offseason, he was inactive in Week 1. This week, he was limited in practice, and it appears he’ll miss a second consecutive game.

On Friday, head coach Matt LaFleur didn’t sound hopeful that Banks would be ready to return.
