2 men killed, 1 injured during separate incidents in Hollywood, police say

Two men were killed, and one man was injured during separate incidents over the weekend in Hollywood, police said.

Early Sunday morning, officers responded to a shooting in the 2700 block of Arthur Street and found two victims, the Hollywood Police Department said in a Monday statement. Both men were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital.

Antoine Etienne, 40, died shortly before 3:30 a.m., police said. An unidentified victim, who is 23 years old, was being treated Monday for his injures.

According to the preliminary investigation, there was a gathering at the location when the shooting happened.

Johntavis Stevenson, 25, was arrested and charged with first-degree felony murder with a firearm, attempted felony murder with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felony in connection with the incident.

A few hours later, officers found a stabbing victim in the 7200 block of McKinley Street, police said. Andres Oscar Perez Ramirez, 22, was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he died around 8:25 a.m.

Detectives believe there was an altercation between roommates that led to Ramirez being stabbed, according to police. Pedro Matom Cobo, 28, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Neither of the men had attorneys listed yet, court records show. They were both being held without bond Monday at the Broward Main Jail.
