A former hotel helps Miami’s homeless seniors. See how they celebrated its first year

Hideaway Bay, a housing complex in Cutler Bay dedicated to helping seniors experiencing homelessness, celebrated its first year of operation Tuesday with a dance party and appearances from local officials.

Instructor Paula Young got some of the property’s 93 residents and staff moving on the dance floor, who were joined by Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.

Located at 10821 Caribbean Blvd., Hideaway Bay is owned by the Miami-Dade Homeless Trust with financial support from the City of Miami. Operated by New Hope CORPS, the former hotel provides housing and social services to needy seniors.
