Where’s Jared? Ivanka Trump posts about husband’s ‘absence’

No, you didn’t blink and miss it. Ivanka Trump didn’t post a gushing tribute to her husband of 16 years on Father’s Day this year.

That’s because Jared Kushner, the father of her three kids, wasn’t around. All that Trump shared was a carousel with throwback photos of Kushner and their three kids, Arabella, 13, Joseph, 10 and Theodore, 8. The main snap was of the 44-year-old and her brood with her own father President Donald Trump at White House retreat Camp David in Maryland.

It’s likely no one would have noticed had Trump herself not called attention to it on social media eight days later.

In an Insta Story that expired Tuesday, the former fashion designer says she was “grateful” to spend the holiday with the leader of the free world and her siblings and cousins.

“Jared couldn’t be with us, but his absence was one born of purpose and we felt his presence all the same,” said the text over screen.

So what is Kushner’s current purpose? The businessman, 45, definitely is tied up. He’s overseeing a luxury hotel being built off Albania’s Adriatic Coast on Sazan Island, a former Soviet military base. The $1.4 billion project isn’t exactly going off without a hitch. Environmentally minded folks have taken to the streets of the capital, Tirana, to protest, due to concerns that all the construction will endanger the wildlife. There are even calls for the resignation of longtime Prime Minister Edi Rama, who gave the massive plan preliminary approval.

Beside the resort complications, Kushner, who was an advisor in Trump’s first term, has been again enlisted by his father-in-law. The New Jersey native has been tasked with helping negotiate peace talks between the U.S. and Iran amid ongoing tensions over the Strait of Hormuz. Kushner has joined fellow peace envoy Steve Witkoff in Doha, Qatar, a country acting as mediator between the two sides, to hammer out a resolution.

So we now understand Kushner’s lack of attendance at the family festivities. At least he got an eventual shoutout, unlike his famous neighbor in Indian Creek Village. Tom Brady was completely ignored by his ex, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, in her Father’s Day homage.
