The emergency suspension order from Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo came down on both of Yordy Brito Aguila’s licenses — the registered nurse license he’s had since 2009 and the advanced practice registered nurse license he’s had since 2015. Soon, an administrative complaint will be filed to start the process toward a final disciplinary decision or exoneration.
According to Brito’s online Florida Department of Health license profile, both licenses had been clean previously.
Brito’s phone isn’t accepting phone calls. Text messages and emails from the Miami Herald have not been answered yet.

‘He wanted to ‘please’ her’
According to the suspension order, Brito worked at Primary Medical Physicians’ Hollywood office, 6517 Taft St., which is also Brito’s address of record on each of his licenses. On Feb. 4, Patient 1 brought herself, including her injured ankle, in for a follow-up appointment.

“At the onset of the appointment, Brito told Patient 1 that she was beautiful and that he wanted to pamper and please her,” the order said. “Brito then examined Patient 1’s ankle. After examining her injury, Brito began to caress and massage Patient 1’s foot under the guise of providing care.
“The way Brito was touching Patient 1’s foot felt sexual in nature, and Patient 1 was uncomfortable.”
Brito then moved up to Patient 1’s face, the order said.
“Brito told Patient 1 that he needed to look into her eyes to check for an iron deficiency,” the order said. “While Brito’s face was close to Patient 1’s, he kissed her on the cheek. Brito then attempted to kiss Patient G.D. on the mouth; she pushed him away and rebuffed his advances.
“Brito responded by telling Patient 1 it was fine because the door to the exam room was closed and that he wanted to ‘please’ her. Patient 1 ended the appointment and left the exam room. As she was leaving, Brito hugged her and again attempted to kiss her. Patient 1 refused to kiss Brito.”
Patient 1 left the office and hasn’t returned since then. Two days later, the order said, Patient 1 received a text: “Good morning, [Patient 1], this is Dr. Brito. Are you okay?”
