Two injured in personal-watercraft crash near Rickenbacker, Miami Fire says

Two men were injured Thursday afternoon after crashing into each other while riding personal watercraft, according to Miami Fire Rescue.

The vessels collided around 2:30 p.m. near the Rickenbacker Causeway, said Lt. Pete Sanchez, a Fire Rescue spokesman.

Paramedics took the men, believed to be in their 30s or 40s, to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital out of caution, but they didn’t sustain serious injuries. Sanchez said.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the crash.

Personal watercraft are one-to-two people vessels often referred to as Jet Skis, the brand name of a popular model made by Kawasaki.
