Kimberly Guilfoyle got Greek gig after split from Trump Jr. There’s a big update

The U.S. Ambassador to Greece resigned Tuesday amid an embarrassing fallout from a Wall Street Journal article that alleged inappropriate behavior during her short tenure.

“She has been a wonderful asset to the team and we wish her well,” new White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia said at a news conference, not going into further detail.

Guilfoyle was given the sweet gig mere months after her fiancé Donald Trump Jr., POTUS’ oldest son, went public with his then girlfriend, now wife, Bettina Anderson.

The businessman and socialite were first pictured together during a cozily clandestine brunch in August 2024 while he and Guilfoyle were still engaged, living together in their Admirals Cove compound in Jupiter, Florida.

As per the WSJ story, the most notable of Guilfoyle’s supposed transgressions (beside engaging in a jetsetting, party-girl lifestyle) was asking a prominent Kentucky Republican donor to help her with a hefty AmEx bill.

In the NYC outlet’s published messages, Guilfoyle implied that if Eric Deters transferred her $100,000, she could get him access to White House officials.

Deters’ response, per the WSJ: “Your needing $100,000 urgent unfortunately is not going to work. I can’t do this without getting a divorce.”

Deters also leaked messages to the Daily Mail that appear to show Guilfoyle felt scorned by the brunch photos of Jr. and his new ladyfriend, whom she called a “cloud chasing horror.” Guilfoyle’s text to Deters, which assumedly carried a typo for the expression “clout chasing,” added that the possibility of Jr. having an affair was “fake news.”

Through her lawyer, Jesse Binnall, the former Fox reporter refutes the authenticity of the Deters messages and claimed her former friend owed her payment for public appearances, which he denied.

In a statement Tuesday posted on X after her resignation, Guilfoyle called the allegations false.

“I intend to vigorously defend my name, my reputation, and my integrity. I have dedicated my professional life to fighting for justice, standing up for what is right, and defending the values that make America exceptional,” the 57 year old told her followers. “I will not allow false accusations to define my decades of public service.”
