Troopers tried pulling over the southbound silver car for speeding around 4:15 a.m. near Northwest 47th Avenue, Lt. Alejandro Camacho, an FHP spokesman, said.

The driver didn’t stop, and “a pursuit was initiated,” Camacho said in a statement.

The BMW driver tried exiting onto Northwest 154th Street, but was going too fast to negotiate the turn. The BMW drove off the road onto the shoulder embankment, colliding with a culvert drain and rolling over, Camacho said.

The three people in the car were taken to a hospital to be treated for “non-life-threatening injuries,” Camacho said. He did not say which hospital.

An FHP car hit the BMW after driving down the shoulder embankment, but the trooper was not injured, Camacho said.

The FHP did not release the names of the people in the BMW, but said criminal charges are pending.
