4 malpractice suits now pending against Miami plastic surgeon ‘Boob God’

The Miami plastic surgeon who leans into the nickname “The Boob God” now faces more medical malpractice claims from the law firm that declares “Size Matters.”

And, Orlando-based Morgan & Morgan went big this month with a trio of medical malpractice lawsuits filed in Miami-Dade against Dr. Leonard Hochstein, a plastic surgeon also known for being the ex-husband of former Real Housewives of Miami star Lisa Hochstein.

With a lawsuit filed in June 2025, this makes four in-progress Miami-Dade medical malpractice suits against Hochstein, all of which have a Morgan & Morgan attorney as the lead lawyer. No response from Hochman’s attorney has been filed yet in the most recent three cases.

“These are allegations, not facts,” Hochstein said via text message to the Miami Herald Thursday morning. “I am fully prepared to defend myself and expect to prevail in all three cases.”

Online court records say Hochstein is represented by Brian Engel of Fort Lauderdale’s Lubell Rosen firm in the 2025 lawsuit. The response for Hochstein filed in that case denies all allegations in that complaint.

Hochstein works out of his office in the building he owns at 585 NW 161st St. His Florida Department of Health online information says he’s been licensed in Florida since November 1995 and has a clean professional discipline record. The American Board of Plastic Surgery verifies he’s been board certified since 2001, and his current certification runs until 2031.

That online DOH profile also shows, since March 2023, three liability claims against Hochstein settled for $250,000 and one settled for $177,500.

“Settlement of a claim may occur for a variety of reasons that do not necessarily reflect negatively on the professional competence or conduct of the physician,” the department’s standard language on that part of the website states. “A payment settlement of a medical malpractice action or claim should not be construed as creating a presumption that medical malpractice has occurred.”

Augmentations, breast lifts, ‘uniboob’ allegations

All of the lawsuits sing generally the same song: women came to Hochstein — his office’s phone greeting declares him a “World Renowned Celebrity Plastic Surgeon” — for breast surgery and wound up with unsatisfactory results through Hochstein’s mistakes.

Miriam Pavlovsky’s lawsuit says after her breast augmentation and breast lift with silicone implants, she “continues to suffer from permanent anatomical distortion, pain and the likelihood of future corrective surgeries.”

When Pauline Pearlman saw Hochstein, her lawsuit said, his handwritten consultation note concerning cosmetic breast surgery “documented a plan of ‘augmentation vs. (breast lift),’ that is, one procedure or the other, not a combined procedure.”

But, the lawsuit said, Hochstein did them as combined procedure on Mar. 15, 2022.

“No clinical rationale or therapeutic justification for changing the surgical plan from a single-procedure operation to a combined augmentation-(breast lift) is documented in the medical records,” the lawsuit said.

After that operation and a revision and breast lift in April 2023, the lawsuit said, Pearlman has been left with “persistent breast deformity, including symmastia and right implant malposition, chronic pain, and the need for additional corrective surgery.”

As described by breastcancer.org, “Symmastia means that the breasts are touching together in the middle of the chest to form a sort of uniboob.”

Alana Jaffery, her lawsuit said, got cleared for surgery by her doctor despite obesity, prediabetes, iron deficiency anemia and high blood pressure. Jaffery’s primary care physician expected all this would be taken into account before, during and after her tummy tuck, breast lift with implants and Brazilian butt lift.

However, the lawsuit said, during multiple post-surgery complications, Jaffery “endured months of painful and invasive wound management, including repeated surgical (wound treatment), treatment of bacterial infection, prolonged packing and dressing care and wound-vac therapy. She continues to suffer permanent abdominal scarring contour deformity and the likelihood of future reconstructive procedures…”

Tanya Draskovic’s lawsuit, filed in June 2025, says in October 2022, Hochstein recommended a breast lift, implant exchange and removal of scar tissue around the implant.

Those procedures happened on Oct. 20, 2022 all at once, which the lawsuit claims raised the risk of something going wrong and Hochstein didn’t explain that to Draskovic. Then, the lawsuit claims, Hochstein not only failed to safely execute the surgeries, but didn’t “timely recognize and treat post operative complications.”

So, “Draskovic suffered complications including left breast capsular contracture and deformity, requiring additional surgery, scarring, pain, and left shoulder adhesive capsulitis and bursitis.”

The response for Hochstein filed by Engel denies that Hochstein left Draskovic short on knowledge; that he made any mistakes during the surgery; and, that he caused any of the complications.
