But Wellington does have to let everyone she recruited to Total Life Changes or Doral company Farmasi US know she was accused of lying about the companies\u2019 potential to make those recruits rich and promise any future claims must be \u201ctypical and supported by evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s in the settlement between the FTC and Wellington, whose website calls her a \u201cMillionaire Mentor \u2014 Spiritual Leader \u2014 Mindset Coach.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Not only must Wellington refrain from statements such as \u201cI will help 1000 families make 5-7 figures in the next 90 days to 12 months!\u201d unless she can prove it, she\u2019s got to give a copy of the settlement to \u201call principals, officers, directors, LLC managers and members\u201d of any business she owns or controls.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A quick sweep through state records shows Wellington as the only such person on most of her businesses, including Wealth Connection Global, which Wellington runs out of an Aventura office building.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Wellington didn\u2019t return phone calls or emails from the Miami Herald, but her attorney, Russomanno &amp; Borello\u2019s Herman J. Russomanno III emailed a statement that he negotiated \u201ca favorable resolution for Wellington\u201d in the settlement.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no admission of liability by Wellington as to the allegations of the FTC\u2019s lawsuit, and there is no monetary penalty that Wellington is required to pay,\u201d Russomanno said.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p><b>READ MORE: Trying to defraud what was still \u2018Gus Machado Ford\u2019 cost a Broward nurse dearly<\/b><\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<h2>Is it multi-level marketing or pyramid scheme?<\/h2>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>In a legal multi-level marketing setup, you make money via the sales you make and by the sales of people you recruit, also known as people in the \u201cdownline.\u201d If this sounds like Mary Kay Cosmetics or Amway products, well, those are two of the most famous and long-running \u201cMLM\u201d companies.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>In a pyramid scheme, however, \u201clittle or no effort is made to actually market the product,\u201d the state of Michigan\u2019s Consumer Protection bureau said. \u201cInstead, money is made in typical pyramid fashion \u2014 from recruiting other people to market the program. Sometimes, new \u201cdistributors\u201d are persuaded to purchase inventory or overpriced products\/services when they sign up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The FTC said: \u201cThe promoters of a pyramid scheme may try to recruit you with pitches about what you\u2019ll earn. Your income would be based mostly on how many people you recruit, not how much product you sell.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Wellington, the FTC lawsuit said, sold a pie in the sky lie much more than the product.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<h2>Selling people on selling Total Life Changes and Farmasi goods<\/h2>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Both Michigan-based Total Life Changes and Doral-based Farmasi market products purporting to help with health, beauty and wellness. Wellington sold and recruited for Total Life Changes from 2014 through August 2025, when she began doing the same for Farmasi.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo induce consumers to join TLC, [Wellington] has represented in multiple widely-viewed and still-available videos that TLC participants will or are likely to make substantial income,\u201d the FTC said.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>An August 2022 video that Wellington posted to her YouTube page, the FTC said she claimed to \u201ccoach 35 families to millionaire and multimillionaire status.\u201d In another video, she made the claim, \u201cI will help 1,000 families make five to seven figures in the next 90 days to 12 months!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>In the caption to an Aug. 3, 2025, YouTube video after her jump to Farmasi, Wellington said, \u201cThis isn\u2019t just skincare or weight loss. It\u2019s generational wealth, leadership, and a money shift. I\u2019m helping 60 people make seven figures by 2026 \u2014 no games being played.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Each company puts an income disclosure statement on its website, numbers that don\u2019t square with Wellington\u2019s boasts.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>According to Total Life Changes disclosure, of the 30,119 active sellers in 2023, the median income of the 70 sellers in the top 1% was $20,324. The vast majority of sellers, 76.8%, earned no compensation.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cUsing the average monthly earnings provided in the Farmasi disclosure, fewer than 1% of its active participants earn an income in the \u2018six figure\u2019 range, contrary to [Wellington\u2019s] claims that participants will earn \u2018no less than six figures.,\u2019\u201d the FTC said. \u201cFurther, the disclosure appears to state that no rank of participant earns an average monthly commission large enough to earn a million dollars a year, despite [Wellington\u2019s] claims that she will make \u201860 new millionaires\u2019 in 2026.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn sum, claims about the amounts of money that TLC and Farmasi participants will or are likely to earn are deceptive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/floridamovingchronicle.com\/?p=357\">Cuba\u2019s new migration law changes little for Cuban Americans.
