Pata, who was expected to be a top NFL draft pick, was killed outside his apartment in Kendall.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>An arrest report said the drugs \u2014 found in paper-like sheets \u2014 were found in Jones\u2019 shirt sleeve and waist band in 2024, but the Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office drug-test results were not evaluated until this week, leading to his second arrest Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Jones\u2019 murder case was tried in March but resulted in a hung jury and mistrial.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>A new trial was set to start on May 18, but Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Cristina Miranda pushed the date back because of several motions filed by both prosecutors and defense attorneys.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/floridamovingchronicle.com\/?p=2215\">\u2018Love is enduring.\u2019 Surfside remembers 98 victims of condo collapse 5 years later<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Included in those filings was a motion to dismiss the case due to an ongoing investigation into the lead detective, Juan Segovia.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>Segovia is accused of posting biased opinions to @balanceof_justice \u2014 an Instagram account that Jones\u2019 attorneys say is linked to Segovia.
