But the local couple, as well as some of the guests which included author Candace Bushnell, restaurateur Mario Carbone and influencer Ashley St. Clair, wanted to catch the action happening two miles north at Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The stakes were high: The New York Knicks needed to beat the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals to get closer to the title. Spoiler alert: They did in, dramatic fashion with seconds to go on the clock.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>The prickly issue? The Manner\u2019s upscale lounge Sloane\u2019s is the opposite of a Flanagan\u2019s. There were no TVs in sight; not even the rooms have them (the hotel is too \u201crefined\u201d for something so commonplace, the Times article notes).<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>But just as the game was about to start, the staff realized the gravitas of the situation and joined in the excitement too, an insider dished.<\/p>\n<p><!-- --><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were going to trickle out of the party because of the conflicting time, then they rolled in a big TV,\u201d Abraira told the Miami Herald. \u201cI was thinking, \u2018OK, wow. This is luxury. The well-heeled attendees were able to enjoy the dramatic spectacle of the Knicks charging back from a 29-point deficit in the lap of luxury. And the coup de gr\u00e2ce: OG Anunoby\u2019s winning tip-in from Jalen Brunson\u2019s long-range jump shot.<\/p>\n<p><!--]--><!--[--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight afterward, you could hear so much yelling and cheering from the streets,\u201d the wedding planner recalled. \u201cIt was the echo heard around the world!
