Indian River County Commission District 2 candidates answer questions

Two candidates are looking to put a new face to the Indian River County Commission District 2 seat.

Republican Jennifer Pippin faces Democrat Robert “Robbie” Hardingham in the Nov. 3 General Election. Nicole Paradiso has qualified as a write-in candidate.

The winner will bring a change to the District 2 seat for the first time since 2006. Four-term Republican incumbent Joe Flescher, 66, is not seeking reelection.

County commissioners are elected to four-year terms. Eligible voters countywide can cast ballots for County Commission, regardless of where they live, but candidates must live in the district they’re running to represent.

County commissioners are paid $85,991 annually.
