Commanders Make Unfortunate Jayden Daniels Announcement After Injury Against Cowboys

Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders could be in some serious trouble. This is after Daniels suffered a gruesome injury at the end of the first half of Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Daniels had to be carted off the field just before halftime. The Commanders quarterback stumbled while taking a snap on the final play of the half. He tried to break his fall using his left arm, but it bent awkwardly.

This is the same arm that suffered a dislocated elbow last season. He initially missed three games because of the injury. However, he re-injured the elbow after returning, forcing the Commanders to shut him down for the rest of the season.

Daniels had a towel over his head as they carted him off the field. He was evaluated inside the locker room, and the team made an immediate decision.

The Commanders announced at halftime that Daniels was done for the game.

“QB Jayden Daniels (left elbow) has been ruled out,” the team posted on X.

As of this writing, the Commanders have not provided the full details of Daniels’ injury. More information should be available once the 25-year-old can undergo further tests to determine the extent of the injury.

Daniels exited after completing 11 of 17 passes for 96 yards and one touchdown. Backup quarterback Marcus Mariota replaced him to start the second half, and Washington could turn to the veteran for the foreseeable future if Daniels is diagnosed with a serious injury.

As of this writing, the Commanders are down 20-13 in the third quarter. They are looking to score their first win of the new NFL season after suffering a 24-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1.
