Indiana Fever’s Stephanie White Makes Lexie Hull Decision After 38 Games

The Indiana Fever entered Sunday’s home game with the Washington Mystics looking to build on Friday’s impressive win over the Toronto Tempo and move closer to securing home-court advantage for the WNBA playoffs.

Indiana was 27-14 and sitting fifth in the league, one game behind the Atlanta Dream with two regular-season games remaining after Sunday. The Mystics entered the contest at 25-16.

Lexie Hull had been a fixture in Stephanie White’s starting lineup for most of the season. Hull started 38 of Indiana’s 41 games, including Sunday’s game. She opened the year on the bench while returning from a hamstring injury, and White had previously stood by her even during stretches when her offense struggled.

However, White made a notable change at halftime against the Mystics. Hull did not return to the starting lineup for the second half, with rookie Raven Johnson replacing her as the Fever attempted to erase a 20-point deficit against Washington.

Hull had gone scoreless in six first-half minutes, while Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell each had 11 points. Sophie Cunningham also had zero points after playing only four minutes in the opening half and did not return after halftime.

Hull entered Sunday averaging 5.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 41 games, shooting 43.4% from the field and 35.5% from three-point range.

With Indiana chasing Atlanta for home-court advantage and the Mystics also fighting for playoff positioning, White’s second-half rotation could prove important as the Fever try to respond to their difficult first half.

The Fever ultimately lost 77-93, with Hull scoring two points in 13 minutes.
