Trey’Dez Green Injury Update Emerges After LSU’s Loss to Ole Miss

No. 7 LSU closed Saturday with a 32-24 loss to No. 8 Ole Miss and an injury concern involving one of the Tigers’ best offensive weapons, along with quarterback Sam Leavitt, tight end Trey’Dez Green.

A starter in Lane Kiffin’s offense, Green suffered a lower-body injury in the fourth quarter after taking a pair of low hits from Ole Miss defenders. Green remained down on the field for several moments before receiving assistance from LSU’s medical staff.

Green walked toward the LSU sideline with help from two medical staff members, with the broadcast showing the tight end in significant pain and walking with a limp.

Green was initially doubtful to return, but he was ultimately ruled out for the rest of the game. A later update from Mike Scarborough showed him in street clothes and using crutches.

Green had been LSU’s leading receiver when he exited. The tight end caught four passes for 60 yards, including a 23-yard reception from Leavitt on third-and-11. He had emerged as a productive option before the injury.

The injury happened when LSU was mounting a second-half comeback after falling behind 24-7 at halftime. The Tigers scored 17 unanswered points to tie the game at 24 early in the fourth quarter before Ole Miss regained the lead.

Green was unavailable for LSU’s final attempt to get closer to the Rebels on the scoreboard. The Tigers reached the Ole Miss five-yard line on their last possession, but Leavitt’s fourth-down pass was tipped and intercepted, sealing the Rebels’ victory.

The tight end’s use of crutches after the game represents the latest visible update on the situation, leaving his status uncertain as LSU moves forward from its first loss of the season.

LSU travels to College Station to face Texas A&M next week.
