Sounders tie Rapids for Seattle’s 5th straight draw
Second-half substitute Caden Clark’s shot through traffic from 25 yards out in the third minute of stoppage time lifted the Seattle Sounders to a 3-3 tie against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday in Commerce City, Colo.

Cristian Roldan, Dejan Joveljic and Clark scored for the Sounders (7-9-8, 29 points). Albert Rusnak had two assists for Seattle, which is winless in its last 13 matches but posted a draw for the fifth straight contest.
Morgan Whittaker scored a brace and Donavan Phillip added a goal as both players tallied for the first time in MLS. Paxten Aaronson recorded two assists for the Rapids (11-12-3, 36 points), who had their home-winning and shutout streaks snapped at six matches.
After entering in the 83rd minute, Clark scored the equalizer on a right-footed shot off a pass from Rusnak.
Colorado opened the scoring in the 28th minute when Aaronson maintained possession wide of the box and played a pass centrally to a cutting Whittaker, who one-timed a left-footed shot into the goal.
Seattle notched the equalizer in the 49th minute when Rusnak’s restart from outside the box connected with Roldan, who rose above the mixer and headed the ball inside the back post.

In the 55th minute, Whittaker’s corner arrived inside the six, was headed by Loic Williams and deflected by Seattle goalkeeper Andrew Thomas. Phillip settled the loose ball and from point-blank range sent a left-footed shot into the roof of the goal for a 2-1 Colorado lead.
Aaronson also assisted on Whittaker’s second goal, which came in the 76th minute, giving Colorado a 3-1 advantage.
Moments later, in the 79th minute, Joveljic sizzled a right-footed shot into the upper 90 as the Sounders trimmed their deficit to 3-2.
Earlier, in the 17th minute, Seattle threatened when Rusnak played a tight pass to Joveljic, who carried the ball just outside the near post before sending a cross to Jordan Morris, whose header hit the crossbar.
In the 20th minute, Joveljic continued to pressure, drilling a left-footed shot over the crossbar from outside the box.
