Judge Judy passes gavel to son, Adam, another Naples resident

A famous Naples judge held the gavel for decades and now she’s passing it to her son, another city resident.

Judith Sheindlin’s show “Judge Judy” ended in 2021 after 25 seasons. And CBS from 8-9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, will air “JUDGE JUDY: Unfiltered, Unforgettable.”

The 90-minute special that looks at her total 30-year TV career will include interviews with some of her celebrity friends, including Steven Spielberg and Samuel L. Jackson. It will air the following day, Sept. 23, on Paramount + Premium.

Her son, Adam Levy’s, new show “Adam’s Law” began earlier in September.

What to know about Adam’s Levy, new show

Levy graduated from Hofstra Law School in Hempstead, New York, and served two terms as the District Attorney of Putnam County, New York, from 2007 to 2015. His prior television experience includes becoming one of the judges on the Prime Video courtroom series “Tribunal Justice,” serving as the show’s host.

After public office, Levy co-founded a law firm in Carmel, New York, where he handled criminal and matrimonial matters in courts throughout New York State.

Levy and his wife, Lori, own a $4.2 million Gulf-side condominium in a Naples gated community. They also own at least one other home, in Wyoming, and have three children.

Judge Judy retirement shindig included Neapolitans

Sheindlin on Sept. 14 celebrated her 30-year career during a business event and launch of “Adam’s Law.” Guests were primarily executives and producers instrumental in Sheindlin’s television career, said a family spokesperson.

Denise Cobb and her husband Brian ― co-founders of the Naples Winter Wine Festival that Sheindlin has often attended ― also were at the Sept. 14 party.

Sheindlin and her husband Jerry have lived part-time in Naples for years.

“Celebrating 30 years and the end of her show with her nearest and dearest,” Cobb posted on her Facebook from the celebration, along with photos of her and Judge Judy. “But don’t call it a retirement party….just a rewiring!”
