Eagle’s Roster Tracker: Every Move Made Ahead of Week 2

Ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the Tennessee Titans, the Philadelphia Eagles made three roster moves that affect both their immediate game plan and long-term outlook. Here is a breakdown of what those transactions mean for the team.

Landon Dickerson placed on IR

After a performance in the Eagles’ opener where Dickerson called himself “a complete liability,” it was revealed that he played through a bone bruise in his knee. The Eagles shortly placed Dickerson on injured reserve, sidelining him for a minimum of four weeks. Dickerson noted that “once it’s healed up, it’s done” and expressed hope that he will return to full strength before the end of the season.

While he is on the shelf, either Drew Kendall or Willie Lampkin will slide into the starting unit, although Nick Sirianni has remained annoyingly coy on who will officially get the start at left guard.

Britain Covey called up to active roster

Covey held the primary punt returner role for the Eagles the last four seasons yet faces the same complicated journey in the offseason. In 2022, 2023, 2025 and now 2026, Covey gets waived during final cuts and elevated for Week 1, then later signed to the 53-man roster. Despite his success as a returner, highlighted by leading the league in punt return yards in 2023, which followed a finished top 10 in 2022, the Eagles always test out new players for the role, but always find their way back to Covey by the time the postseason arrives.

While his role as a receiver has been limited in the past, recording just 13 catches for 96 yards in his NFL career, Covey was a positive in the screen game during the preseason, including a touchdown catch. With Philadelphia’s screen game completely sputtering against the Commanders (going 3-for-3 for -11 yards), Covey’s usage could provide an intriguing wrinkle to revive a stagnant area of the offense.

Josiah Deguara signed to practice squad

Deguara has bounced around the NFL since getting drafted in the third round back in 2020. The 29-year-old tight end initially started his career on the Green Bay Packers, although did not overlap with Sean Mannion. Still, they do share the experience working under Matt LaFleur and his offensive concepts, which Mannion has implemented in his offensive scheme as a play caller in Philadelphia.

While Deguara has not been a consistent option as a pass catcher, his value is as a blocker, as a traditional inline tight end or as a fullback. With Eli Stowers on IR, the Eagles tight end room could use some additional bodies. Deguara may see himself called up for the upcoming matchup vs. the Titans.
