Authorities responded shortly after 8 p.m. to reports of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Northwest 46th Avenue and West Oakland Park Boulevard, the sheriff’s office said in a Thursday statement.
Audrey Allen, of Oakland Park, was driving a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan at high speeds in the center lane on West Oakland Park Boulevard, the sheriff’s office said. At the same time, a woman driving a 2014 Chevrolet Express van in the opposite direction made a left turn to go northbound onto Northwest 46th Avenue, the sheriff’s office said.

“That’s when the front of the Volkswagen struck the passenger side of the Chevrolet in a T-bone type crash,” the sheriff’s office said. “The impact caused both vehicles to rotate toward the northwest corner of the intersection.”
Allen’s Volkswagen rolled over onto the driver’s side, where it came to a rest, the sheriff’s office said. She was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead. The Chevrolet driver, who was not identified, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to a hospital.
