Deputies name bicyclist killed in Broward hit-and-run and ask for public’s help

Deputies have identified a man found dead in a grass swale last month and are asking for the public’s help in locating the driver who hit him, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Jacob Robinson, 71, of Pompano Beach, was found dead shortly after 4:45 a.m. on Aug. 23. He was lying on the side of a road near a bicycle on the 1700 block of Northwest Sixth Avenue, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said in a Wednesday statement.

The Broward Medical Examiner’s Office said Robinson’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office. No information was available about a suspect or vehicle.
