Man pushed from moving Chicago train, 15-year-old girl charged in killing
A teenage girl has been arrested on charges including murder after Chicago police said she and several other people pushed a man off a moving transit train.

According to the Chicago Police Department, officers arrested a 15-year-old girl in connection to the Sept. 7 killing and confirmed that as of Sept. 14, two other suspects remained at large.
In a statement to USA TODAY, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Kyle T. Bickham.
Bickham, 29, died from multiple injuries due to a train striking a person, Meaghan Johnson, a spokesperson for the office, said. The medical examiner ruled Bickham’s death a homicide.
Police said detectives arrested the 15-year-old girl on Sept. 11 after, according to a news release, she was identified as one of the suspects who allegedly “used force” to push Bickham from a moving CTA train.
The girl was charged with first-degree murder, mob action, murder by other forcible felony and aggravated battery to a transit employee, all felonies. It was not immediately known whether the teen will be tried as an adult.
She is due in juvenile court Sept. 14, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office told USA TODAY in an email.
Bickham’s family said he worked at the Amazon warehouse in Cicero, Illinois, and was on his way home from working when he was attacked.
He died after falling onto the electrified third rail and was then struck by another train, according to information from police and reports from CBS Chicago and ABC7 Chicago.
A motive in the killing was not provided by police.
“It’s the most hurtful thing that has ever happened,” Bickham’s father, Christopher Bickham Sr., told ABC7.

Police on Sept. 14 confirmed to USA TODAY the other suspects remained at large and said would not release additional details in the case, citing the open investigation.
‘Turn yourself in,’ family pleads
On Sept. 13, Bickham’s family gathered at the 69th Street station, where police said he was pushed from the train, and pleaded for witnesses, as well as the other people suspected in his death, to contact police.
“I don’t know who else is out there, but I’d like you to turn yourself in,” the victim’s mother, Latanya Bickham, said during a news conference.
‘His light will never be forgotten’
A GoFundMe described Bickham as a son, brother, uncle, family member and friend “who was loved by so many.”
“He was a light, goofy, kind, caring, and always able to bring laughter to those around him,” wrote Chris Bickham Jr., who said he created the fundraiser to help pay for funeral expenses.
“Our family is asking for help giving Kyle the homegoing he deserves and sending him home to the Lord,” his relative wrote. “Kyle mattered. His light will never be forgotten.”
