Perez Hilton was hospitalized after alarming livestream. There’s an update

It’s been over a month since Perez Hilton shocked the Internet with a disturbing livestream at his Miami area home.

The celebrity blogger (real name Mario Lavandeira Jr.) has been hospitalized since Aug. 4 and updates on his condition lately have been scarce.

Soon after the incident in which the 48-year-old appeared to be engaging in self-harm, his family notified fans on his official website that Hilton suffered “blood loss,” broken bones and other injuries.

With Hilton’s physical issues behind him, the focus has shifted toward his mental health, according to his brother-in-law Tom Giarraffa. Late last month, the California man (whose wife is Hilton’s older sister Barbara Lavandeira) told Chris Booker, now hosting Hilton’s eponymous podcast solo, the influencer was being moved to a psychiatric facility.

Whatever caused the disturbing episode, which the businessman referred to as a “mental break,” remains unknown. “I don’t know if it will ever be,” Giarraffa said.

According to a recent article from The Daily Mail, an insider close to the situation says the father of three is “not well at all” and experienced memory loss during the episode.

“He is not all there,” the friend told the outlet, adding that Hilton is fixated on talking about people from his past, including Katy Perry. The two were apparently friends when the “Roar” singer was first starting out.

Another update came from Realtor.com, which reports that Hilton’s team has just slashed the price of his mansion in Las Vegas by $350,000.

The so-called Queen of All Media initially listed the six-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom property near The Strip for $4.25 million in June, when he moved back home to Miami.

“It is a beautiful home, and it served me well personally and professionally,” he told the real estate site at the time.

The troubled Internet personality added that the 7,000 square foot custom-built residence was a “healing” space, but that it was time for a new chapter back where his life began and where many relatives still reside.

“It just feels like the right move, the only move, to make at this time,” he said. “I’ve loved Las Vegas, but it’s time to be closer to family.”
