In Little Haiti, Chef Creole is cooking up a Haitian Flag Day celebration

Little Haiti will be brimming with visitors this weekend and Monday as revelers, residents and visitors celebrate Haitian Flag Day, a celebration of Haitian identity and heritage that commemorates the creation of the Haitian flag in 1803.

On Monday, Chef Creole, whose real name is Wilkinson Sejour, is launching an inaugural Unity Fest that will transform his flagship Northwest 54th Street location into a hub for music, art, food and culture from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The celebration will also include local artisans, small businesses, live music, a line-up of DJs including DJ Griot and DJ Pure Funk and performances from Miami Edison Senior High School and Miami Northwestern Senior High School marching bands.

Tickets start at $29 and can be purchased on eventbrite.com.
