Scooter crash leads to a deadly shooting, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office says

An argument after two men on electric scooters crashed into each other led to a fatal shooting Sunday evening, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said.

The men crashed into each other around 5:20 p.m. at an intersection near Northwest 75th Street and 22nd Court, the sheriff’s office said. As the two men argued, one of them pulled a gun and shot the other, Detective Argemis Colome said.

The gunman, who had a child with him, drove off after firing the weapon, Colome said.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue paramedics declared the victim, 24-year-old Darryl Frankders Johnson, Jr. dead when they arrived, according to the sheriff’s office.

Homicide detectives continue to investigate the shooting. The sheriff’s office asks anyone with information to call 305-471-8477.
