On June 19, deputies responding to reports of an unconscious woman in front of a house on a five-acre property on the 26000 block of Southwest 209th Ave. found Esther Liontos, 58, dead. They also found a man, 61-year-old Roger Arendondo Gonzalez, lying near her body.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue paramedics declared both of them deceased, said Detective Angel Rodriguez, a sheriff’s office spokesman. The sheriff’s office has not released how they were killed, or their relationship, but county property records show both lived at the property, which Liontos owned with another person.

The sheriff’s office said at the time the bodies were found that detectives detained a man and planned to speak with him to determine if he was involved in Liontos’ or Arrendondo Gonzalez’s deaths.

On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office announced that Marshals arrested 73-year-old Andres Gonzalez in Puerto Rico, and he would be extradited to Miami-Dade to face charges related to the investigation.

Records found on LexisNexis show Gonzalez not only living on the property at one time, but also that Liontos sold a home to him near ZooMiami in 2001. It is unclear if Andres Gonzalez is related to Arrendondo Gonzalez.

The sheriff’s office said more information on the case, including the release of Andres Gonzalez’s arrest affidavit, would not be available until he is sent back to South Florida.
