Man in custody after woman critically injured in Miami-Dade crash, deputies say

A man was taken into custody Sunday in connection with a crash that injured an older pedestrian in southwest Miami-Dade, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies responded to the crash near 15360 SW 295 St. around 2:28 a.m., Detective Argemis Colome, a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said.

A woman, who was not identified, was airlifted by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to Jackson South Medical Center in critical condition, Colome said.

It’s unclear what charges the man is facing, or whether the woman is expected to survive.

“The investigation remains ongoing,” Colome said. “There is no further information available at this time.”
