A 5-year-old girl was shot and killed in Florida City on Wednesday morning, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

The girl was taken to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, where she died, Detective Angel Rodriguez told reporters on the scene.

Three adults were inside the home at 1452 NW First Ct. when the girl got shot, Rodriguez. The girl’s 4-year-old brother was also home.
