Machine Gun Kelly just opened his Miami cafe. A famous friend helped

OK, one in particular. Comedian Pete Davidson was on hand Monday afternoon at the official opening of the rocker’s new cafe in Wynwood.

Davidson presided over the ribbon cutting at the 27 Club, named in honor of musicians who died prematurely at that age. Think Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain.

On Instagram MGK (real name Colson Baker) shared a glimpse of the launch party while up on stage with Davidson, who is wielding a large pair of scissors about to cut into a red ribbon.

“I want to toast to a new era in this area,” said MGK, leading a countdown with the crowd.

“5,4,3,2,1!”

And with that, the “Saturday Night Live” alum made the cut, and officially christened the sure to be bustling hotspot. Among the notables in the crowd: actor Simon Rex, golfer Reilly Opelka, Miami Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon and Colorado Rockies pitcher Kyle Freeland.

Wait, hold up. Why was Davidson there, you ask? It’s not as random as you think. The comic and rocker actually have a history together going back to costarring in MTV’s classic sketch comedy show “Wild N Out” about a decade ago. Their lives have intersected over the years in Hollywood and beyond as their careers evolved.

Their last viral collab was in March during MGK’s Lost Americana tour in London when Davidson popped up, rapping along to “Roll the Windows Up.” The pals were also seen hanging in NYC before attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden in July.

Both have a lot in common beside their wild and crazy famous lives. Both are single dads of young daughters navigating coparenting in the spotlight — Davidson with model Elsie Hewitt and Baker with Florida-born actress Megan Fox.

Back to business: Dare we say this cafe seems like Wynwood’s freshest new place to see and be seen? The pink-accented coffeehouse not only serves all types of java but also has aspirations to be a local meetup space, hosting concerts, standup acts and other types of entertainment. The way hip destination has indoor/outdoor seating, a casual-food menu and features a cool mural of musicians gone too young painted by Brazilian graffiti king Marcus “Grabster” Borges.

The South Florida outpost located inside the Wywood Jungle building, marks the second location for the 27 Club. The “Bad Things” singer opened the flagship of the 27 Club in 2020 in Cleveland, where the native Texan spent part of his childhood.

“27 Club is a destination for lovers of coffee, music and art. Blending our love of good coffee and food with nightlife, Miami was the natural next location,” MGK’s team said in a statement. “The culture of the Wynwood Arts District stuck out to us as a perfect fit for our DNA.”
