For star quarterback Jalen Hurts, it will be just the third matchup of his career against the Panthers. Let’s take a look at how he fared in the two previous meetings.

Jalen Hurts Has 2-0 Career Record Against Carolina Panthers

Hurts has come out victorious in both of his previous matchups against the Panthers. His first game against Carolina came back in October of 2021, which was Hurts’ first season as the full-time starter in Philadelphia. He threw for 198 yards and an interception in the game, but he also added 30 rushing yards and two rushing TDs in Philadelphia’s 21-18 victory. Panthers QB Sam Darnold threw for 177 yards, one TD and three interceptions in the game.

Hurts’ second game against Carolina came in December of 2024. He threw for 108 yards and two TDs in the game, which the Eagles won 22-16. He also added 59 yards and another TD on the ground. Panthers QB Bryce Young tallied 191 yards, one TD and one interception in the loss.

Philadelphia Eagles All-Time Record Against Carolina Panthers

The Eagles and Panthers have a history that dates back 30 years. The first game between the two teams was played in October of 1996, and the Eagles won that game 20-9. Including that game, the two teams have played against each other a total of 14 times, and the Eagles have won nine of those meetings, including the last two, for an all-time record of 9-5 against the Panthers.

However, Carolina bested Philadelphia the only time the teams have met in the postseason. The Panthers defeated the Eagles 14-3 in the 2004 NFC Championship Game to move on to the Super Bowl. Eagles star quarterback Donovan McNabb had a putrid performance in that game as he completed just 10 passes for 100 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions.
