Taking to X last night, the longtime wrestling broadcaster and announcer shared a photo of himself back in the hospital. He said that he was dealing with “low oxygen” and that he had dropped down to just 198 pounds. But he indicated that he’s okay by giving a thumbs up to the camera.

“Back in the hospital due to low oxygen. Weighed 198. Need a break,” Ross wrote on X.

“Get well soon JR”

Ross’s post on X has over 26,000 likes, 1,000 reposts and 1,300 comments in a little over 12 hours. Fans had all kinds of encouraging messages for the WWE Hall of Famer.

“Sending so many prayers for you, Jim. All the love,” ESPN’s Stacey Dales wrote on X.

“Praying for you legend,” Jarrius Robertson wrote.

“I want everyone to think good thoughts for JR. He is one of the absolute best people I’ve ever met in the world of wrestling and sports. He deserves every bit of love anyone can pass his way,” a third user wrote.

“Get well soon JR,” wrote a fourth.

Ross has been a major figure in wrestling for the better part of 50 years, but recent health issues have seemingly caused him to spend more time in the hospital than behind any desks.

In 2026 alone, he’s reportedly suffered a fall in his home that left him on the floor for five hours and unable to get up, and in July had to spend 40 days in the hospital while recovering from brain surgery.

Last week he announced that doctors discovered brain bleeding that required more surgery.

We wish Ross all the best as he works to overcome this latest hurdle.
