Airport authorities and deputies are alerting travelers that there might be delays getting in and out of the airport as certain areas have been closed as the investigation continues.

The departure-level roadway and the terminal area from doors 12 to 17 are temporarily closed, the airport said. All vehicle traffic is being diverted to the arrivals level.

“All passengers and airport employees are safe,” the airport said. “Travelers coming to MIA today should allow extra time and expect delays.”
